Which came first, the anxiety or the inflammation?
A myriad of diseases have been linked to chronic inflammation, including cancer, diabetes, fatty liver, autoimmune and cardiovascular disease.
Recent research is now linking inflammation to anxiety disorders, but in a scientific version of "the chicken or the egg," researchers aren't sure which causes which. Animal studies have shown the onset of anxious behaviors stemming from inflammation, and at the same time, chronic stress is a primary cause of inflammation.

Definitely an interesting article. Sadly, scientific breakthroughs often open the drug company's door to create yet another pill they can gain profits from. Whatever they conclude, I would wager that if people have a choice of switching to an anti-inflammatory diet or taking a pill, a high percentage will opt for the pill so they don't have to change their lifestyle.
