A drug to treat aging??
It may come as no surprise but the leading cause of death is aging. Scientists seem to be making progress in targeting and removing "senescent" (aging and deteriorating) cells which are believed to drive the aging process and set the stage for conditions like cancer and neurodegeneration.
There are a number of approaches under investigation, including small proteins that target senescent cells, vaccines to clear them out, as well as gene therapy.
Will the fountain of youth become a reality?
