Food pyramid...No thanks!

News Flash

In 1992, the USDA introduced the food pyramid as a guide to proper eating. It was heavily influenced by food industry lobbyists, was difficult to interpret, and made poor recommendations. Its replacement, Myplate, moved in the right direction but was still flawed and crafted by outside companies.

Fortunately, Harvard's schools of medicine and public health have created "Healthy Eating Plate", an alternative guide to healthier eating that's easy to understand and has no financial influence from the food industries.
