Yet another benefit of exercise on the brain
Improved mood and mental focus and reduced levels of depression and anxiety are a few benefits of healthier brain function courtesy of exercise.
This article from The Guardian discusses another reason to move our bodies, even for just a few minutes—increased creativity. It turns out that a few short minutes of moderately paced movement, like brisk walking, dancing, or taking some stairs, increases blood and oxygen flow which promotes the production of healthy brain cell proteins. This, in turn, brings a boost to the brain's creative "think outside the box" capabilities.

i like what this article has to say. I always feel better when I exercise, but knowing that if I'm short on time, just a few minutes of non-aerobic exercise can stimulate my creative brain. Thanks for posting it!

Years ago, I read a study that showed that 2-minute bursts of aerobic exercise done a few times a day had as much impact in weight loss as longer 30 minute workouts. Now we know shorter work outs can help our brain as well.
I think that boosting brain creativity can happen in any moment we let go of thinking or processing, so it doesn't surprise me that exercising, which often enables "mindlessness" or spacing out, would allow the creative muse to sneak in unnoticed and drop off some creative thought-starters. For me, all my creative thoughts seem to flow once I pull my mind away from work and allow my mind to drift.
