Though researchers aren't sure why, studies show that birdsong—the sounds birds make when they chirp at each other, is effective in reducing feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, and even paranoia. Researchers also believe birdsong could be part of future treatments for mental health disorders.

And here I thought my growing appreciation for nature was due to me getting older and less hip.

I agree 100% with this determination. Sitting in my backyard listening to the various cheeps, chirps, coos, and screeches is very relaxing, and yet, uplifting at the same time. And much "cheeper" than therapy 😀

Best therapy is sitting in the back yard with the fire pit lit, an old fashion and music. At sunset we can regenerate for the next day.
