Missing Money

A couple of months ago on the local news, I learned about a website called Missing Money, an online directory of people who are owed money that was never paid out.

I figured I had nothing to lose by logging on. It was easy enough—I put in my name and scrolled down a list until I saw an address where I used to live. I clicked on the link and learned I was owed $80.64 from a gym I worked for over 20 years ago.

I opened my mailbox this evening, and there was my check from the state controller—a pretty good way to end the day.
