Is this ingredient big trouble for our health?

News Flash

Metabolic issues like diabetes and insulin resistance, as well as joint pain, inflammation, and gut imbalances, are increasingly common in Western societies. This is attributed to several factors, including a lack of exercise, low-quality sleep, unmanaged stress, and, of course, suboptimal nutrition.

I often tell clients that food is information that instructs the body how efficiently to function, based on its nutritional content. Just like a car, low-quality fuel will bring low-quality performance.

In this video, Dr. Eric Berg discusses an ingredient found in a variety of foods, including baked goods, baby formulas, and even some marketed as "healthy," like gluten-free and sports nutrition products (I checked my protein powder to confirm its absence). The ingredient is known as Maltodextrin, which Dr. Berg describes as an industrial starch that’s added to foods primarily as a bulking agent.

If you’re dealing with any of the conditions mentioned in the video, you may feel inclined to check your pantry for potential offenders.

Thank you this was stunningly shocking and very helpful.

I am one of those gluten free folks so I check food labels very closely. I did a double check and found none of that bad stuff on the labels. I will continue to watch closely for it in the future.

I'm glad you didn't have to empty the cupboard.

Oh, those cinnamon rolls look delish, but I know the label is damning to their food value. I'll be sure to check labels for this particular offender. Thanks for the heads-up.

Thanks for the information, I love cinnamon rolls but I'll definitely check the labels!
