FDA warns of lead-leaching cookware
Hindalium and Indalium aren’t words thrown around in everyday language, but the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) wants you to know about these aluminum and brass alloys. It turns out that cookware made with these metals can leach significant amounts of lead into food.
This is the second warning from the FDA regarding dangerous cookware; the first came last August. In total,19 cookware brands are on the lists and sold in stores in several states, including California, New York, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
Lead exposure at any level can pose health risks, especially for young children who can experience changes in behavior and lowered IQ, as well as women of childbearing age.

Slipstream
I've been reading a lot about this as well as the coated pans that have PFAs. California was going to block PFA pans from being sold in the state, but all the high-end chefs who had their own lines of pans pushed back against it, and California caved; the bill died. Are we surprised?
