Family man donates heart to his brother-in-law

There are currently over 103,000 people on the National Transplant Waitlist. "Directed donation" is when a family knows a person on the Waitlist and wishes to donate an organ to them.

In this touching story, the untimely death of 46-year-old TJ gives his brother-in-law a new lease on life with a heart donation. Says TJ's widow, "Organ donation is amazing. I can't imagine if we didn't have that, what it would have been like to lose [TJ] without something good coming out of it."

omg...what a heart breaking yet inspirational story...of course it left me weeping.

This is such a beautiful example of how things unfolded in what I call "Godwinks" because I don't believe in coincidences.

And also a real life example of the Circle of Influence I wrote about today.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful heart centered example of the generosity of people. It is refreshing to hear this bit of news because it reminds us there are lots of good deeds happening around us.

There are beautiful mysteries that happen around us all the time.

In this story, the synchronicity, the love, and the sacrifice combined into something newsworthy. And yet we can all find extreme kindnesses and expressions of love in our own lives if we notice and accept them without judgment.

There is nothing common in anyone's life. The outward appearance may seem so, but there are countless blessings coming our way that we often tend to discount--and this is true for all people no matter the conditions they face.
