Eggs every day, is that okay??

News Flash

Rarely does a day go by that an article about protein doesn’t pop up in my news feed, and for good reason. Decades ago, when I joined a gym and read nearly every bodybuilding magazine available, I learned that adequate protein intake was non-negotiable for building and maintaining muscle.

It’s taken a few years, but the general public is learning that protein is key to enjoying good health and slowing the aging clock. Kids and teens rely on it for tissue and brain development; it helps people in midlife maintain a healthy weight and metabolism; and seniors, who often eat too little protein, need it to slow muscle and bone loss, as well as support immune function and bone health.

Eggs are one of the most convenient and versatile sources of protein. Some may remember when doctors warned against eating eggs because they believed the yolk’s cholesterol raised the risk of heart attacks and other health issues. Fortunately, research has helped dispel those old perceptions.

One of my favorite protein-packed breakfasts to make is scrambled eggs mixed with lentils, drizzled in olive oil.

Check out this article from Eating Well, where you’ll learn several lesser-known potential benefits from eating eggs that may inspire you to serve them up frequently.

I'm glad eggs are getting good press, and that the price is back to being reasonable. I like your breakfast suggestion—yummy and packed with protein 👍👍
