Bottled water is better than tap...isn't it?
Based on consumer taste tests, tap water frequently scores higher than bottled water, and many brands, including Dasani and Aquafina (owned by Coke and Pepsi, respectively), actually come from the tap. On top of that, bottled water will cost you about 2000 times more than the faucet.
Through a deceptive practice known as "manufactured demand," bottled water companies launched campaigns to trick consumers into believing tap water is unfit to drink. The irony is that cities and municipalities have to disclose more information about their water quality than do bottled water companies.
Then there's the environmental impact. A fraction of the plastic bottles that go into our recycling bins actually get recycled, with a large portion being shipped to other countries' landfills. The half-billion bottles sold weekly in the US could circle the Earth five times.
After reading this eye-opening article and watching the accompanying video, I'll make every effort to avoid buying bottled water. I'd like to hear your thoughts about this topic.

Some time ago, I read that a lot of bottled water comes from wells or municipal water sources within the United States, despite the spring water and mountain images they advertise. I switched to a water filter.
