Revealing the Beauty

District topic

Grant Maniér doesn't see the world the way most of us do, and that's exactly what makes his art so extraordinary. Diagnosed with savant syndrome at an early age, Grant has an exceptional ability to focus, transforming discarded objects into one-of-a-kind sculptures that collectors have paid up to $30,000 to own.

Watching Grant work is a reminder that sometimes it takes a different way of seeing to reveal the beauty that no one else sees.

This is a nice story. I love this kid's self-confidence. It's really unusual. I've seen so many kids on the spectrum struggle with social contact, but this one has found a wonderful passion that keeps him out of trouble. What a blessing.
