School Becomes A Safe Space For A Special Student
Ben is deaf and has other special needs. When his parents dropped him off at school, they had no idea how isolated he was and were devastated when they learned he had no friends.
When his tutor and parents met with the school, they, and the students, found a unique way to make Ben feel welcome.
I hope you love this story as much as I did.

This story made me so happy. It had all the sweet, kind, and wonderful ingredients that warm the heart and moistens the eyes. It was joyful to see everyone joining in on giving love to a special needs child who desperately needed it. This is how the world changes for the better, and others follow the lead. Thanks for sharing.

I'm happy you were as uplifted as I was.

What a fantastic story. I love how the kids and faculty both wholeheartedly embraced learning to sign. The teachers have their work cut out for them, as the kids with their highly plastic brains will pick it up faster.
In parts of the country and world at large, the naive and tired propaganda that same-sex parents can't provide a loving and functional household persists. I appreciate how Steve Hartman's reporting inadvertently disproves this prejudice.

Special needs kids are usually overlooked when adopting. The love these moms showed was amazing. I'm glad you pointed that out. Thanks 😊
