The Last Thing You Say

Wish has not yet been granted
Wishing Well

Recently, I read about a woman hiking on a beautiful day when a huge tree limb fell and took her life instantly. No warning, no time to say goodbye. I also read about a teenage boy who died in an accident. His mother is now haunted because her last words were in anger over unfinished homework. She never got the chance to take those words back.

It made me stop and ask myself: what would be the last thing I say to someone I care about? Would I be remembered for my kindness, my love, my best self? Or would it be a sharp word, a careless complaint, or my silence following a conversation left unresolved?

I wanted to share these thoughts with you because I take these stories as a sign—a reminder for all of us to watch our words and speak from our hearts, not our frustrated, angry minds. To let go of the petty things and to stop negative thoughts before they become speech. Because regret is a heavy thing to carry, and I don’t want it to be my legacy, or yours.

My wish is for everyone to keep in mind that the last thing you say may be the last thing you say.

Oh, this is so true. It's so easy for people to lose their minds over the pettiest of things and rip into those they love. The "be kind" movement would be totally unnecessary if we could just all be chill and stop making mountains out of molehills. Your reminder is sweet and to the point. Thank you❤️
