Would you like a hug?

District topic

I've watched this video several times, and every time, tears come to my eyes. I can't help but feel the joy and love that's being shared between strangers. Have your tissues handy...

A beautiful act of philanthropy. This courageous man understands that we all need money, but we equally crave love. Taking time to give strangers a hug is the simplest way to explain that love is a gift, a blessing, and something we all need. It's an affirmation that those who give it are as much a philanthropist as those who give money.

Uplifting someone can be as simple as signing in to Youtropolis and sending a free greeting card. Just open the "Take a new action" menu and select the "greetings" icon.

Thanks for introducing us to this special man.

He's a very special guy for sure. And I agree, sending greeting cards are a good way to stay in touch and show that you're thinking of the receiver. We all like to get "good" mail. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

You weren't exaggerating about needing tissues.

This man's courage and vulnerability are so admirable, knowing some would invariably make fun of and mock him.

Standing with his arms open, ready to embrace anyone willing, reminds me of depictions of Jesus with open arms, welcoming the young and old, the rich and poor into his loving care.

I was amazed how the kids literally ran into his arms. What a joy just to watch it. I don't think I'll ever have a tearless viewing. Thanks so much!
