This makes me even happier to be a TJ's shopper.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I knew a guy years ago who was fired from working the deli counter in a Pavilions supermarket. His crime? Just before closing, he gave a leftover chicken to a homeless man instead of throwing it out. Apparently, the company equated this to stealing.

Trader Joe's has always had their priorities straight. They do right by their employees, customers, and community. This is likely because they are privately owned instead of operating as a publicly traded corporation where profits must be maximized at the expense of quality, caring, and social responsibility.
