Let Your Passion Guide You

District topic

A lot of kids love dinosaurs, but most outgrow that “passion.” But not Anderson Taylor. At just 9 years old, he opened his own natural history museum in his small Illinois town, turning a childhood interest into something the whole community could enjoy.

Now 11, Anderson has made history as the youngest male museum curator ever recognized by Guinness World Records. His museum has about 1,000 items, and he gives tours and school presentations sharing his discoveries with his community and town visitors.

Stories like Anderson's remind us there’s no age limit on following what excites you. Rather than wait until he was older to pursue his dream, he started with a fossil in his driveway and just kept going. Let Anderson be an inspiration to follow your passion, no matter your age.

Well Street

Impressive is an understatement for what this young man has accomplished. How admirable that he channeled his passion and encyclopedic knowledge of fossils and dinosaurs into becoming a world record holder.

Homeless Valley

This child is so entertaining, like he's been reincarnated and reclaiming a former life. Even his outfit puts a smile on my face. We should all be so lucky to pursue a passion. I guess that's easier to do if you have parents paying the bills so you can immerse yourself in your heart's desire.
