Pushback On AI Is Working

News Flash

The race to develop AI is moving so fast that even experts are raising serious concerns about where it could take us. Some people are beginning to say, enough, and the pushback against artificial intelligence is getting harder to ignore.

One recent example comes from inside OpenAI. Employees boldly challenged a 2025 $25 million political donation made by company president and co-founder Greg Brockman and his wife, Anna, to Leading the Future, a super PAC supporting candidates who favor policies friendly to the AI industry.

The Brockmans had pledged another $25 million to the group in 2026. But after employees pushed back, Brockman acknowledged that the donation had become a distraction for the company and said he and his wife had no plans to make the second contribution.

OpenAI employees also put more than $200,000 of their pooled money behind the Guardrails Alliance, a political group advocating stronger AI regulation.

You don't have to work for an AI company to make your voice heard. You can stop buying from companies that replace people with AI when you have a choice, tell businesses you want a human option, speak up when AI is used to make decisions that affect you, and contact your elected representatives about AI regulation. Even a letter, a complaint, a canceled subscription, or a few dollars supporting an organization pushing for responsible AI can add to the pressure.

The technology may be moving fast, but that doesn't mean we, the people, have to sit back and accept every use of it. Actions and words make a difference—twenty-five million dollars' worth in just this one instance.
