Good Samaritans among us

In a time when hate-filled talk and actions drown out decency and goodness, the below Nextdoor post gave me comfort. The act was small, but it meant the world to the person who received it.
It was a reminder that Good Samaritans are still among us, spreading kindness and care without the need for applause or recognition. Let's do more of this.
“To the stranger who paid my parking ticket this week: I am in tears. 🙏 I was home with a migraine and forgot to move my car for street sweeping. I have been postponing the walk of shame to my car this morning, because I knew there’d be a parking ticket waiting for me.
I should’ve known better than to make a rookie LBC mistake, and I was feeling down and embarrassed.
To my surprise, I discovered that my parking ticket has been paid.
(I looked it up on line to confirm)
I’m a single income professional who put her life savings into her writing project in 2023, and still digging myself out of the hole I’ve made financially. This random gesture helps in more ways than you will ever know.
Thank you. ❤️ (I will be paying it forward)”

I'll take this as a reminder to be more of a Good Samaritan. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you!

Such generosity; parking tickets are nearly $100.
Note to self: look for opportunities to make a difference.
