She Who Rules Over Me
A black cat thinks she should be living in this house. She thinks it's hers and doesn't understand why I don't allow her in. She stares at me with fierce, yellow eyes whenever I'm in the kitchen. Sometimes she finds me in the library and stares at me from the window ledge. She's got fleas. I don't know why she thinks she belongs inside the house.
When I saw this photo, I thought, now she's had a portrait taken of herself to remind me that she's the queen and I should obey her. Often I do. She gets into my head and lets me know what treat she'd like. She won't leave me alone until she's been served an abundance of all of the usual ones.
There are other cats who rule others, I'm sure. Here's a gallery of their portraits: https://www.boredpanda.com/cats-in-the-form-of-old-ceremonial-portraits-...

Funny and fun concept.

With the attention you give her and the quality of treats she receives, she likely feels close to royalty and expects to be shown to her throne inside.

So funny and likely true.

These photos are very funny and perfectly demonstrate the cat as the "ruler" mentality. Thanks for posting!

Agreed. The portraits are so creatively executed.
