My best self

Wish has not yet been granted
Wishing Well

I wish for us to experience more calm, peace, and kindness toward ourselves and toward all others. This includes having goodwill toward those who come from every walk of life, possess different beliefs or mindsets, or choose a different lifestyle.

If you’re thinking this is a lofty wish, it is. Maybe not likely to ever happen, but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. Every grand achievement was once thought to be unlikely, or even impossible. But, I’m of the mind to say, to heck with it, and take action to make my wish a reality.

To fulfill this wish for myself, I’ll begin with a daily practice of asking myself, “Am I being my best with my family and friends today? Am I thinking only the best of them and giving my best in return?”

I’ll have to be honest with myself each and every day because if I realize I’ve fallen short on any day, whether in thought or deed, I’ll want to rectify it, apologize, or make immediate amends so I can at least say I fulfilled my wish for that day.

Day by day, my practice can expand to people beyond my friends and family; people I may or may not know, but all still worthy of the best me. And I can further expand it toward our leaders who are often caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to making decisions—which rarely please everyone.

Youtropolis is the perfect place to practice making my wish come true. I can assist my tribe and alliances with their needs and wishes, support them in following through with their pledges and help them with obstacles they may be facing. Honestly, I can think of no better place I’d rather be than in this city, being my best self, helping others, and feeling good about all I’ve done by the end of the day.

Let’s face it, we’re all in this together, and I truly believe that if we recognize our own best selves, believe in its power to manifest good, and put it to work with everyone we encounter, my wish can be fulfilled on a grand scale heretofore thought unachievable.
