Choosing good news

I pledge to take time to find positive news rather than settling for the doomsday headlines that flood my feed.

I like to stay somewhat informed about what's going on in this country and the world, but since the "If it bleeds, it leads" motto seems to apply to most publications, I've started searching for stories that have real heroes: police helping a kid raise money; a stranger helps another to pay a bill; a plumber fixes an elderly woman's house for free. Those kindnesses really happen but are overlooked. Well, I'm looking for them.
