Don't be a victim of smishing!
Bad actors seem to have no problem finding unending ways to scam us. The one being talked about a lot recently is “smishing.” Never heard of it? Well, it's a term that combines “SMS” and “phishing.”
You may already have had the experience of having these criminals invade your texts, and hopefully, you've thus far avoided falling for their tricks. They look like they're from your bank, the EDD, or maybe even UPS, but they aren't.

Did you know the IRS texts you now to let you know the police are coming to arrest you for outstanding taxes? I’ve had the police after me three times now. 😉
It’s really sad how many people fall for this. These scammers have gotten so good at convincing people to give them money, gift cards, access to their accounts, etc. Imagine if they used all of their skills and dedication to do something good for the world…

I've received a number of these fake UPS, Amazon, and FedEx texts, but I've also been getting some that say, "Hi, how've you been?" and "Hey there."

Why are there so many of these criminals? Because so many good people fall for their scams, and worse, even "fall in love" with them! Fish in the sea, there's an unending supply, until more people become aware. So thanks for sharing these prevention tips.
