Full "Pink" Moon on the way

City Event

Put Wednesday night, April 5, on your calendar to take in April’s full, “Pink" Moon. According to Farmer’s Almanac, full moon names come from Native American, Colonial American, and European sources.

April's full moon was named the Pink Moon because it corresponded with the springtime bloom of an eastern North American wildflower, creeping phlox, also called “moss pink.”

Even though the moon isn’t actually pink in color, it’ll still be full and beautiful and perfect for viewing. Its peak illumination is 9:37 p.m. April 5 in the west and 12:37 a.m. April 6, in the east.

Add some fun to your viewing by sharing a photo or two on your Youtropolis City News. Enjoy the view!
