The Spoils Go To The Victor, Pete Hegseth

Can someone please show me how Pete Hegseth's decision to livestream an execution by firing squad is any less barbaric or traumatic to viewers than ISIS livestreaming a beheading? Do we really want our children to witness such an atrocity?

How do we on any level proclaim to be a civilized and enlightened society if we livestream such a spectacle after years of labeling ISIS' terrorists "butchers" for doing the same thing?

There is a sickening, punitive maliciousness in this decision which will never deter future terrorists. It will likely give them the audience they crave and provide an inspirational incentive to follow in U.S. Army Major Nidal Hasan's footsteps—who will surely go down in history now as a hero to terrorists around the globe.

The last public execution in America was 90 years ago. In England it was 150 years ago. In Canada it was 147 years ago. In France it was 87 years ago. Think about that. Even Russia ended public executions in 1997 due to public outrage. In communist China it's rare.

America will not be the victor here. It will be Pete Hegseth, a lascivious savage, who will claim the moral high ground by forcing our nation to spill blood into the public square once more. It's a tragedy beyond words, but not surprising for this horrific administration.

This is how America forfeits her greatness forever more.
