That's the thinking among scientists after they discovered erythrulose sugar molecules embedded in a huge gas and dust cloud at the center of the Milky Way. This is the first time sugar has been seen in interstellar space.

I still shudder when I think of my college astronomy professor, so the subject doesn't cross my mind much today. Had the discovery of sugar molecules in space happened back then, I'd likely have taken more of an interest in the class.

Lets me know sugar must be good for us or it wouldn't be so abundant in a Milky Way dust cloud or in earthly fruits. Fructose is a different story. Everyone should stay away from that.
