Top Six Life Regrets!

Knowledge

We all have regrets. It is said that we regret the things we didn't do more than the things we did. Do you agree?

Some of the top regrets fall under the following categories:

1. Romantic relationships

People regret wasting time on toxic relationships, wishing they'd jumped ship sooner.

They also regret obsessing about the one "who got away."

2. Relative feuds

Not speaking to family members for years, is another common regret; letting their disagreements get out of hand.

3. Money

This is a biggie! People regret mismanaging their money and look back to everything they could have had had they not invested in the wrong thing, and instead invested in something worthwhile.

4. Parenting

Parents often look back and wish they'd spent more time with their children; that they hadn't been too critical and/or strict.

5. Health

People wish they'd taken better care of their bodies and regret not exercising and having eaten poorly on a regular basis.

6. Friendships

People regret allowing friendships to fall by the wayside, or not spending more time with their current friends.

Regrets are inevitable, but perhaps we can learn from this list and make sure these are not regrets we personally have in the future.

Well Street

In regards to living more fully in the moment and focusing on the things that truly matter, I've heard this phrase coined a few times: "When lying on your death bed, it's unlikely you're going to say, 'I wish I'd spent more time working at the office.'"

For myself and nearly every adult I know, maintenance of friendships becomes progressively more difficult. Our never ending list of responsibilities and commitments occupies the time we used to devote to seeing one another. It's easy to see why this makes the regrets list.

I've had senior-aged clients who began exercising late in life and among the primary reasons was to avoid the regret of never having done so.

Thank you for sharing this list. It serves as a reminder that our actions, beliefs, and mindsets of today will influence how we reflect on our lives before crossing over.

Slipstream

This is a great list to remind us where we might do better, and if we pay attention to it and take action, we'll will happier later on. I don't want to have regrets. Thanks for the roadmap to a "no regrets" life.

Evangel

This important list confirms the regrets I've most heard from older people...young people don't often talk about their regrets.

As people go through life, they ignore many warnings that come to mind. These are red flags from the universe asking us to change course.

With this list, and it's not a long list, it's easy enough for people to periodically check in on how they're doing in these areas. I hope this post is a clarion call, something they can tack up in clear sight and keep its reminders in mind.

Thanks for posting this!
