On October 19, 2024, The Economist cover story headline was: “America’s economy is bigger and better than ever.” It’s subtext was, “Will politics bring it back to Earth?”
That issue of the Economist touted four years of Biden economics. It didn’t lie. America’s economy was better than ever.
The image above shows the cover of two other issues of the Economist. The first image was published 50 weeks before the second image—which is today’s issue. Trump is seen cutting 50 states off from the world, 50 states off from prosperity, 50 states off from the American dream, 50 states off their current standard of living.
This is what happens when those around Trump must agree with him to keep their position. It's what happens when no one is allowed to give him a reality check and tell him “It’s a bad idea, Mr. President.”

The inmates are definitely running the asylum so there are no limits on the insanity that rolls out from DC. I cringe to think of what future covers may look like.

As is well knows, sometimes things have to get real bad, people have to hit rock bottom before anything changes. Maybe this is rock bottom for those elites who don't want to lose any more of their current fortunes.

Today's Washington Post headline reads, "Cracks appear among Trump's cheerleaders amid market turmoil." I don't expect these cracks to become chasms, but I pray we don't fall off a cliff we can't climb back from before he's told, "It's a bad idea, Mr. President."
