Announcing New Sheraton-Universal Hotel

News Flash

Image caption:
Seen here are Lew R. Wasserman, MCA president, left, and Ernest Henderson III, president of Sheraton Corp., at a press conference to sign the contract for and announce the future 500-room Sheraton Universal Hotel.

Also at the press conference, perched on an earthmover, were Honorary Mayor, Tippi Hedren, Ernest Borgnine and John McIntire, along with the casts of both "Wagon Train" and "McHale's Navy." A sign for "Universal City" is visible in the background, to the right.

I haven't been there, but I think they welcome guest doggies.

Wow. Only an entertainment pro like Lew Wasserman would stage a photo op to mimic a bonafide office, including its polished desk, leather chair, two unplugged telephones, and desk name plate—despite being situated on barren land.

Nice shot!❤️

All those in the background were major actors back then. But when Lew called, everyone showed up even if it was their day off. Great photo!

Many thanks, George Brich…I was the photographer.

The office decor was the first thing I noticed, too. It's a creative mind that comes up with that for a press conference, along with actors from a couple of popular TV shows.
