The Unexpected Happened For All The Right Reasons

Wishing Well

If you’ve ever had a passion or dream dashed by well-meaning critics, you’ll enjoy this performance as much as the live audience and judges did.

The unassuming girl who walks onto the stage has no “it factor”—that uncommon, steamy sexuality prerequisite for any budding, pop superstar—but she felt she had a gift worthy of America’s Got Talent.

Fortunately, her parents agreed and embraced love instead of fear, giving her a helping hand rather than dissuading her for all the usual wrong reasons.

For those of you who believe in yourself and aspire to something more in life, I wish you success, and let this moment in one girl’s life be your reminder to keep going, to keep working hard, despite the barrage of discouragement coming from those harsh critics in your life.

Present Valley

Oh my goodness....here I am weeping again (I bet many of you were too along with the audience and judges) watching this talented, courageous young woman perform from her heart.

What an inspiration she is not giving up on her dream or letting limiting beliefs and critics stop her. Her journey thus far cannot have been an easy one. Her parents have demonstrated a palpable example of unconditional love and support for their daughter.

I have no idea where her life's journey will take her, however I hope Julliard is part of it.

Thank you for sharing this.

Wow, chills and tears; amazing. One more reminder to push forward with your dream because it can happen. Such a sweet moment to experience; thank you.

In the first few seasons of American Idol, Simon would verbally cut auditioners to pieces with little mercy. These may have been staged for ratings, as many people watched just to see him in action. It was great to see Simon so moved by this special woman and her performance.

The judges in this clip were spot on when they said her voice was angelic, as was her energy, excitement, and gratitude for the opportunity to perform.

Like Present Valley, I had to grab tissues while watching her blow the audience away with her voice and courage. Blessings to her and her fantastic parents.

Truthfully, some of my tears were from the many times I've fallen prey to the syndrome of "not enoughness" despite my talents and skillsets.
