Renewed Hope For Democracy? Both Parties Say Yes!
With U.S. democracy plagued by extremism, polarization and a growing disconnect between voters and lawmakers, a set of reforms that could dramatically upend how Americans vote is gaining momentum at surprising speed in Western states.
Two specific reforms appear to deliver fairer outcomes for both parties and do a better job of reflecting the will of the people. What more can we ask for? When applied in the real world, such as in Maine and Alaska, outcomes also tend to disempower the extremes and encourage more conciliation and compromise among elected officials.
While many advocates believe these reforms are as close to a silver bullet as one can get, there are some naysayers, primarily entrenched party officials who fear a loss of their own power and want you to believe the reforms will push politics further to the other side of their aisle.

Slipstream
We're seeing far too many "political hacks" in both parties these days. If RCV can assist in pushing them out thus allowing the cream to rise to the top, I'm for it. Thanks for posting this article; good information of what might be coming our way.

If RCV has support and faces resistance from members of both parties in government, it could be a system that fairly and effectively represents the views and wishes of the country's voting majority.

wondering, can they screw this up also and make it easier for big business to keep a grip around our elected officials or will bring us closer to what the people need and want.
Good info thanks
