Beautiful Thoughts Are Free!

Knowledge

You would think that most people want free stuff. But no, that's not the case. Instead of the beautiful thoughts that are available to you at any given time, you focus instead on the worst thoughts, narrative, catastrophic scenarios, etc. Those, unfortunately, do have a high price tag attached to them: stress, anxiety, headaches, ulcers, fear, etc. All of these can affect not only your psychological health, but your physical health as well.

Next time you go shopping for thoughts, take the free and beautiful ones. Fill your mind with those. Leave the rest in your cart. Better yet, empty your cart, altogether, and never add them to your purchase!

Well Street

I recently listened to a podcast where a guest said our brains are like velcro for negativity—it sticks, and Teflon for positivity—it can slide right off.

While this is how brains are wired, what a worthwhile practice it is to observe a negative thought, understand the propensity to hang onto it, and instead choose to "empty it from the cart."

Making progress in this practice definitely isn't linear, but we're all worth the effort.

Slipstream

I agree that emptying the cart and never picking up those fearful, stress-filled, thoughts again is the way to shop. Instead, filling our carts with beautiful positive thoughts is definitely the way to go.
