In the spirit of the great fortresses of history, Fort Biblio has now been established. Usually such structures were built by rulers of the realm and definitely not by a librarian, who in this case founded Fort Biblio not as a military stronghold of power but as a protected archive of wisdom and knowledge found in many great books of the past on the topic of self-enrichment.
Whether that means to have a kinder heart, or more understanding on our path in life or even recognizing the power of the imagination in creating a part of our own reality, Fort Biblio is now dedicated to revealing these truths and giving credit to the original thinkers who were inspired to create them.
In 1897, the English archivist and author Charlotte Yonge edited a small book of devotional thoughts from French to English. Its title was "Paillettes d’Or" which, in English, became "Gold Dust." She writes: “These little counsels deserve the term of golden dust which sparkle in the sun…to be collected to bring a little joy to your hearts and peace to your soul. Let them penetrate deep inside and then scatter them again that they may go with their good words to the help of others.”
