Wow, that's amazing. The people in the trials were very excited about what they were able to do with their minds. It's quite amazing. Bless them for being today's guinea pigs. Who knows what miracles their participation could bring in the next 5, 10, 20 years.
What's so impressive is how the technology works and is able to translate a person's private thought into digital code. This is breakthrough technology not only for medical purposes (great) but military, where brain implants can monitor and modify brain activity in war fighters (scary).
I applaud these individuals working hard to improve the lives of the paralyzed and severely debilitated, and I hope their cause receives adequate funding to further their innovations.
The military, already making use of the technology, will explore how it can be weaponized, and many would argue that the world's changing landscape and the evolution of warfare demand it.
I happen to be listening to an audiobook about a cabal of power-hungry and influential individuals using brain implants to control people, eliminate potential threats to their vision, and create a new world order. Not surprisingly, this video was a bit chilling to watch.
Military science for half a century has been developing new technologies based on bionics. If you could replace someone's thoughts with your own, that would be a big win. With implants, the military will be able to put thoughts into people's heads...it's likely already in use. But the military is only valid and legitimate in my mind when it develops technologies to protect its people or nation, not aggress upon anyone or any other nation.
