Most of us don't like change, but change happens regardless. It's the most certain thing in our lives. Some changes we like, others feel intolerable. If it can be changed, do it. If not, accept it and/or remove yourself from the situation.
You're so right! But it's so hard for people to leave an oppressive job or abusive relationship. We become accustomed to it so the fear of change seems even worse. More than once in my life, I've been forced into change, and it was always for the better.
Everyone has wanted to leave something or someone at some point in their life, be it a horrible job that provided for the family, or a horrible spouse that made life unbearable. The struggle is always the same: "should I stay or should I go?"—and weighing the potential outcome of either choice.
I believe our guardian angels will tell us what to do if we ask for help and follow their guidance. Such guidance may surprise us. It may come down to changing ourselves, seeing things differently, being patient, being more realistic, and finding more outlets that being us peace and joy. But, sometimes exiting is necessary if abuse is ongoing.
