Fascinating: Watch A Bird Build Its Nest

Today I took down a nest that had been built inside the porch light. It was amazing to see the detail and intelligence with which the nest had been built by the mother finch. New chicks were born and left the nest, but as I was getting ready to take the ladder out to remove the nest, another bird came and landed on the porch light. I watched it as it seemed to contemplate what it would need to do to freshen up the existing nest. It wasn't happy when I went out and started to dismantle it. I could hear it chirping very loudly, probably to warn her male companion to find a new location. Although the nest did not look like the one in the video below, it was just as amazing. Here you can see up close how intelligent birds truly are with their nest building skills.
