Music Video "We Had Hoped"

Brother David Steindl-Rast's retelling of this story was my inspiration.

After the crucifixion Jesus came upon two of his disciples walking on the road to Emmaus.
Jesus kept them from recognizing him.
They began confiding in him, agonizing over losing what “we had hoped” for, that Jesus was the Messiah. When he was crucified and died...their hope died with him.

Beautiful. Your lyrics, voice and message deliver meaning on so many levels. The drums felt so grounding and your voice lifted me higher. I actually felt like dancing, my body felt so happy experiencing the hope in this song.

Putting words to an event that occurred thousands of years ago was brilliant because losing hope is just as relevant today. I'm referencing the disciples agony that what "we had hoped" for was not going to happen.

I hear this lament from people weekly. I know there have been many times in my lifetime I felt the same way about something, of course, less significant than Jesus being the Messiah.

However, the words remind me that it is impossible for me/us to know or see the big picture. Many times what was hoped for does come to pass it just looks different or takes longer than expected. If it doesn't happen, I believe we are given what we need to move forward without it.

Thank you for sharing your inspiring words.
