Notable Quotable: Elizabeth Warren On Iran War
On Saturday, an air strike hit the Shajare Tayyiba all-girls elementary school in Iran, killing 168 young girls.
The joint U.S.-Israel air strikes on Iran had only just begun. Trump has since warned much more is coming and Americans should expect more U.S. casualties. Yet, his justification for the war remains unclear and unfocused.
Senator Elizabeth Warren felt an urgency to hold a press conference immediately following a war briefing she attended:
"I just left a classified briefing on Iran, and here's what I can say. It is so much worse than you thought.
"You are right to be worried. Trump administration has no plan in Iran. This illegal war is based on lies, and it was launched without any imminent threat to our nation.
"Donald Trump still hasn't given a single clear reason for this war, and he seems to have no plan for how to end it either. Like a lot of you, I am really angry. I am angry at what Donald Trump is doing, and I feel grief for those already killed in this unnecessary conflict.
"And I will keep doing everything I can to fight to end this war."

Slipstream
Magicians use this trick. It's called "misdirection" of the audience. To keep the audiences eyes off the trick, they divert their attention to something else. In this case, let's get the American people to stop looking at the Epstein files, inflation, hospitals closing, benefit cuts, medical care skyrocketing, etc., etc.

Right. Let's kill a bunch of people and say they deserved it for decades and now just happens to be the right time to bomb them. Don't look at those bad people in the Epstein files because they're just chicken feed...the real bad ones are these children right here in Iranian schools. I'm disgusted.

Maybe $125 barrels of crude and global markets on a downward slide will bring a sudden and welcome offramp for DJT to lurch onto.
