Photograph caption:
Mrs. Shirley Remebmeyer of Los Angeles clutches daughter, Karen, 4, after she saved child from possible drowning in pool at home of Mrs. Joe Eisman, 11853 Kling St., North Hollywood. Mrs. Remebmeyer hauled Karen from deep water and gave her mouth-to-mouth resuscitation she learned on TV program. Fire department units assisted in rescue Wednesday.

Oh my goodness. A possible tragedy has a happy ending. Nice mom and baby photo.

The number of people with competent CPR skills is very small, including parents of young kids. I can only imagine how grateful Mrs. Eisman was to have paid attention to that TV program.

Such emotion captured in this great shot. But I can't imagine how the mother's hair is perfectly dry after a dive into the pool to save her child. Also unexplained is your timing, George, arriving on the scene quickly enough to photograph the terror the 4-year-old is still feeling.
