Pauling Quits Cal Tech

News Flash

Photograph article partially reads:
"Dr. Linus Pauling, twice winner of the Nobel Prize, will end his 41-year association with the California Institute of Technology and join a Santa Barbara organization to work for the cause of peace in the world. Pauling, 62, said at a press conference in his Pasadena home Friday he will join the staff of the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions Nov. 1. He will take a leave-of-absence basis, then terminate his Caltech position as chemistry professor in June. He said the move would allow him more time to concentrate on his three fields of interest -- science, medicine and peace."
