Isn't anybody concerned?
Every day I wake up hoping that I've been dreaming. But no. I've actually been having nightmares. Every day is a new horror show on display. If life in America were a movie, it would be a psychological thriller with the good guys losing.
People are being kidnapped off the streets, separated from their families, some never to be seen again.
We are living in a country where the worst criminals are being pardoned and let out onto our streets. So no, 45 doesn't care about crime. He is the one who commits the crimes.
Visas are being revoked simply because the First Amendment was exercised.
A Special Day in October is being dedicated to one of the most vile humans I've seen. This vile human could say anything he wanted to; express his hatred for other humans in the name of Christianity. He could express his misogyny and racism without consequence, and still they make a special day for him.
But a comedian says something 45 doesn't like and he's canceled.
We have officially lost our rights to the First Amendment. And it makes me feel sick. Who's next? Who will be canceled because they exercised their First Amendment?
We are living in dark times and they're only getting darker.
We are living in a world where wrong is right and right is wrong. We are living in a world where the 1% is controlling the narrative, where people protect pedophiles and victims are called "comfort women." Where the man "running/ruining" the country lays out the red carpet for a dictator/murderer, but humiliates the President of a country attacked by said dictator/murderer.
We are living in a country people no longer want to visit.
We are living in a country where a great deal of our population is scared to death to leave their homes. And before you say, "Well, they're undocumented." You don't know. And even if they were, isn't a human being and their family more important than a piece of paper? Don't they deserve due process?
And didn't we steal America from its original inhabitants? Aren't we all immigrants?
We are living in a country where we're allowed to speak only what 45 wants to hear. That poor, little soulless man who has a hole so deep, he will never be able to fill it. Not with gold, not with money, not with sexual assaults, not with rich friends. He is empty and will die like that. Empty.
I apologize for my rant. Thankfully, Youtropolis is a safe space where the First Amendment is honored.

There's so much going on that seems so wrong. When I ask myself, WWJD, few of today's occurrences come to my mind and heart. It's heartbreaking and soul crushing. Your rant is understood by millions. Thanks for trusting your tribe.

Most Americans are aghast and what we're witnessing—especially the extreme corruption, bullying, and gleeful punishment of foes. Those who approve are likely unaware of the existence of the actual laws this administration is breaking. The whole process brings to mind the teardown of a house where just a few studs are left in place.
Clearly, this is the Dark Ages repeating itself in the 21st century, where instead of the fall of the Roman Empire, we are seeing the fall of the American Empire. And after the fall of that earlier empire, there was a great loss of knowledge and ensuing widespread illiteracy that kept people (and the truth) in the dark. And the Dark Ages, like now, saw the rise of the Church's power where it ruled over the land. That's what concerns me the most.
If there is any comfort to offer, most of these assaults on our democracy, so far, are being successfully shot down in the courts, even where conservative justices are in the majority. Thank god for the rule of law.
And, thank you for trusting your tribe with your passionate rant.
