I know some people have an aversion to negotiating. They may even think it's a disrespectful thing to do.

I agree there are times when negotiating may be in poor taste. You certainly don't want to negotiate with the ladies at the church bazaar cake sale, but you should feel free to bargain with your credit card company for a lower rate.
