Just An Illusion...
Illusions! They seem so real, don't they? That's why you believe them. That's why magicians can captivate and hold an audience's attention. They make you believe someone has actually disappeared or is being cut in half. And while you may suspend your disbelief for a bit, deep down you know that it's just magic. Damn good magic!
Throughout your lifetime you may have been told (and believed) a number of illusions. And because they "appeared" to be real, or you were too young to discern the truth, they made you feel small, insignificant, and unlovable.
But an illusion is no more real than someone being cut in half on stage. It just looks that way. Illusions that make you feel less than, are not real. Who has the right to make you feel that way? Look closely at who is hurtling the incorrect ideas at you. It isn't you who is being defined by what they're saying; they are defining themselves for doing so.
If someone tries to make you feel powerless and meaningless, don't take it in. Shut the door on it, just like you would to a threatening visitor. You don't have to believe everything everyone tells you. Don't let the words of others mislead you and become your reality.
Believe in yourself enough to shatter those destructive illusions, and allow yourself to feel the truth of who you really—a beautiful soul that has as much right to the air it breathes as anyone else.

Excellent advice. Shut the door on others who try to put you down and make you feel unworthy, and also shut the door on your own self-destructing words that can be just as damaging as outside voices.

YES! Shut that door!!! Quick, before anything gets in.

That's our shared experience and lesson—slamming the door and disempowering those unsupportive and unkind words from within.

I know it's tough, but practice makes better!
