Social Pollution: A Mirror Of a Decrepit Democracy
We’re all familiar with pollution from air, soil, water, and noise, but there is another form of pollution that may be causing us greater harm, leaving us restless, rageful, and sometimes insane: social pollution.
Social pollution is an aggravated assault on the nation’s body politic. It is an intentional, deliberate ground and air war on the hearts and minds of citizens perpetrated by moneyed interests with a cultural agenda. Where there were once airplanes that dropped political leaflets on cities, now there are bots posing as friends, AI delivering content set on brainwashing you, news channels that are hyperpartisan, and social media echo chambers planting victory flags in the soil of your mind. It’s not selling you candy bars, it’s firing you up with outrage.
What America starts, the world follows. Sweden, once a moderate nation, is one more domino that’s fallen into the trash heap of social pollution. Where will it end, or will it? Read more in The Guardian.
Slipstream
It saddens me to see Sweden leaning toward the "crazies" thinking. It's bad enough experiencing it here but to see the whole world following us is very disturbing. "Where will it end, or will it?" are two very good questions. I pray the answers become apparent sooner than later.
Well Street
It's scary how the hate and fear spreading in our country is infecting others around the world and holds such appeal to so many.
I pray that one day, the U.S. will once again be a role model of a functioning democracy that countries
can admire and strive to mirror.
