Meet Liberator & Medical Myth Buster Joel Bervell

Fourth-year medical student, Joel Bervell, has taken on the challenge of busting some serious medical myths related to people of color. As the first black medical student at Washington State University, he’s become known as “The Medical Myth Buster.”

Using TikTok as his megaphone, Bervell sheds light on important medical knowledge other doctors and nurses never heard before, exposing “things we should have been taught in medical school but have not been learning.”

Bervell’s broad mission to empower and enlighten his TikTok audience with valuable and timely medical knowledge makes him this week’s liberator.
