Liberator in Action - Scott Dixon
Scott Dixon didn’t hesitate. When he saw the pickup truck veer across the lane and plunge into the flood channel, his instincts and years of experience as a lifeguard and firefighter took over. In that moment, he wasn’t just a dad driving his family home from a Christmas party—he was someone who simply couldn’t turn away from a stranger in trouble.
Rushing out from his truck, the screams of a teenage girl calling for help cut through the night, and without thinking of himself, Dixon jumped into the dark, cold water. He swam toward the submerged truck, pulling the girl to safety before going back for two more passengers. In those tense moments, his focus was singular: making sure they all survived.
Afterward, Dixon reflected on how much worse it could have been if his family hadn’t been driving that road at that exact moment. He doesn’t believe it was a coincidence. “Somebody else put me here at this time,” he said, his words resonating with humility and faith.
One person can uplift the world. Scott Dixon’s courage and selflessness remind us that being a liberator is often about being ready to act when it matters most, turning a moment of crisis into one of hope and rescue.
For his heroic actions, we celebrate Scott Dixon as a “Liberator Extraordinaire.”
