Today we're sharing a heartfelt essay from former GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger. In a few words, he memorializes Dolly Parton by summarizing the lessons we can all take away in the wake of her passing.

“We are told constantly that Americans can’t agree on anything, that we’ve sorted ourselves into camps that can’t stand the sight of each other. And then Dolly Parton passes away, and for a few days a divided country agreed on something. We agreed on Dolly.”

The essay is a beautiful tribute to Dolly and the goodness she repeated over and over again. We were gifted with her music, her wit, and her heart for decades.
