How High is Your Intellectual Humility?
Being your best self requires a good amount of intellectual humility. This means being open to the ideas and opinions of others, and being able to say things like, "I didn't know that" or "Wow, that's an interesting concept. How come I didn't think of that?"
In today's polarized world, if you're able to listen to others without judgement, or if you try to understand why they might see something differently from you, it means you probably have high intellectual humility. I scored pretty much like I expected—I'm able to acknowledge some of my limitations and accept other's perspectives, but it can be challenging.
It would serve me to do some digging for information from a few sources before forming an opinion or adopting a belief. The article says that with higher intellectual humility comes greater resilience and that really speaks to me.
