Beware Of Scammers Posing As Deputies!
People fall for scams every day. That’s why the trend is growing and becoming more malicious.
Recently, a technology reporter who was well-versed on the topic of scams, fell for one and lost $25,000. Everyone is susceptible because it often begins with a phone call or voicemail that rattles you and throws you off logical center.
The call sounds legit because the caller has personal information on you and family members. The scammer poses as a deputy and speaks in a calm but serious tone. Whether it’s about a family member landing in jail, a child in a car accident, or a demand for you go to the courthouse to take care of a matter—as in this story from KTLA News— scammers posing as law enforcement officers are out there with a more sophisticated bag of tricks to frighten you into submission.
Please be careful and don’t fall for the trap! Learn about what happened on KTLA News

You have to be so careful everywhere. Hold onto your purse in the market, watch over your shoulder in the parking lot, don't click on links or attachments, watch for phony texts, and beware of phone calls from police.
What an amazing world this would be if these scammers would put their talent into doing good.
Well Street
Agreed. Every time I hear one of these stories, I think of how the scammers are wasting their talents on evil deeds.
I sometimes wonder what happened in the childhoods of the scammers that they can operate without a conscience.
