Celebrate Lunar New Year!

City Event
Jan
22

January 22 is the beginning of the Lunar New Year. The event celebrates the first new moon of the month and is one of the most celebrated and important events of the year among East and Southeast Asian Cultures. This year’s event marks the year of the rabbit, which in Chinese astrology symbolizes patience, temperance, and good luck.

Aside from enjoying the many cultural festivities offered in local communities, the Lunar New Year is also a time to declutter your space and make room for all that is new. You can add to your own good fortune by gifting items you no longer need to others through your city’s Recycle Bin. For every item you gift, you earn 100 kindreds. Remember, there are many people in need who may find their own good fortune in claiming the toys, games, clothes, books you once enjoyed, or gift cards you never used.

To add your gift(s), open the Youtropolis app, select “Start something new here…” and choose “Recycle it!”
